A TOP dog from the Isle of Axholme showed off her streamline figure to scoop the title of Best Bitch at Crufts.

Mollie, a five-year-old Hungarian Vizsla, was the hottest hound, beating stiff competition to win the prestigious title at the dog show, held at the NEC in Birmingham at the weekend.

Proud owners Chris Baker, 49, and his wife Sue, 48, have been entering Mollie into competitions for the past couple of years but this accolade is the highest she's received at Crufts.

Mollie won her Mid - Limit Class, for dogs which have not become show champions under regulations, and then went on to win Best Bitch.

She received a challenge certificate and rosette.

"It's fantastic for Mollie to get this in the competition," said Chris.

"She's had a first at Crufts before but she's not gone any further like this. To be best bitch under the challenge certificate is really good.

"She just needs to earn three in her lifetime to be called show champion."

Just six months ago Mollie won the limit group title which prize enables her to qualify for Crufts for life.

But to keep up Mollie's good looks, her owners have to have a strict regime which includes a diet of raw meat.

"We have a routine where she always eats healthy to keep a good weight and we take her our for exercise," said Chris.

"We make sure we clip her nails and give her a bath the night before to keep her in good condition.

"We thought she had an extra twinkle in her eye at the competition and a gloss on her coat."
