SUPERMARKET chain Morrisons has ruled out any plans to take over the HMV or Blockbuster stores in Scunthorpe and Ashby.

Six HMV stores have been snapped up by Morrisons already, with plans to turn them into M local branches.

But bosses at the supermarket chain have denied any interest in the Scunthorpe store, saying it is not on their list of possible acquisitions.

Reasons cited include location, size, proximity of existing Morrisons stores and commercial viability.
