Motorist admits causing A1077 deaths
A MOTORIST has pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving after an accident on the at South Ferriby which left two people dead.
John Spink, 47, of Marsh Lane, Winteringham, had been driving along the A1077 on August 12, when his Volkswagen Golf car hit an oncoming Volkswagen Fox.
Peggy Nolan aged 83 and Gordon Cousen, 79, of Goddar Close, Barton-Upon-Humber, were travelling in the Fox.
Ms Nolan died at the scene of the incident, Mr Cousen died a short time after in hospital.
Following the plea, senior investigating officer, Insp Alan Dorning said: "These kind of horrific incidents are thankfully rare and this was a very cruel and selfish act carried out by John Spink.
"I would like to thank the community for having come forward with information that helped us with the investigation."
"Peggy and Gordon were much loved and they both lost their lives in very sad circumstances. My sympathises go out to the friends and family of Peggy and Gordon."
