FENCING around the Albert Marson estate to reduce crime has moved a step closer.

Plans for specific alleyways to be closed off so trouble-makers cannot evade police are expected to be put to residents this month.

North Lincolnshire Council's deputy head of safer neighbourhoods Bruno Watson, said: "They have got some firm proposals now about which bits they want to be closed.

"What North Lincolnshire Homes will now try and do is firm up a date to ask people to discuss the proposal.

"We are letting them take charge now."

North Lincolnshire Homes' director of housing services Steve Hepworth said: "North Lincolnshire Homes has been working with Safer Neighbourhoods on ideas for fencing around the area.

"Both Safer Neighbourhoods and North Lincolnshire Homes have already done some consultations which support the idea of fencing, however we are considering the options and once these become clearer we will be doing some further consultations."

“What an indictment of life under a Labour council and government, they can't supply adequate security to the taxpayers because they are shot of funds, but they can spend £15,000,000 on that unnecessary RED ELEPHANT, The Scunny Dome, I didn't vote them in to mismanage my tax money this way! Council, get a grip and SORT YOUR PRIORITIES!!!”

“another waste of taxpayers money.. why not put all these cretins in one area, say riddings or westcliffe, move all the decent people out of there and just let all the cretins get on with it.... leave the police to get on with helping the decent people in the town...”

“I find it difficult to believe it is beyond the wit of the local police force...sorry, service...to catch and punish these offenders. And once caught they should be named, shamed (regardless of age, sex, race or religion) and given cleaning up duties every Saturday for a year...whilst wearing their 'badge of honour' - a hi-viz yellow jacket for all to see!

    And if they default...?
Then fine them - or their parents - the cost of repairs/replacements for the damage they have caused.

But then, I suppose that would infringe their 'Human Rights'! (What about their 'Human Responsibilities'?) and what about a community's right to expect their local authority to provide law and order?
That's one of the things we are paying them for!”

“What a load of tosh!! So they get banned on a Sat night for 2 days so what !!! They will still be out the following weekend causing trouble.
I feel sorry for the police they should have more power to be brutal in the first place then the offenders might think twice if a beating was around the corner.”
