A new Scunthorpe restaurant and cafe business is being proposed for a sizeable building on Scotter Road.

An application has been lodged with North Lincolnshire Council to add a restaurant and cafe use to the current furniture shop at number 142.

The intention is to sell locally sourced luxury products like ice cream and chocolate and to operate a coffee lounge serving hot and cold drinks, cakes, salad and soup.

Take-away coffee, croissants and pastries may also be offered.

There is also a wish to serve alcoholic drinks, such as liqueur coffees.

It is proposed to employ one full-time member of staff and six part-timers.

Permission is being sought by Bottesford businessman Dennis Graves.

North Lincolnshire Council is welcoming comments on the application up to February 26.

A decision is not expected to be made before mid-April.
