New blood donors: Final push needed to reach 200 Save a Life target
THE Scunthorpe Telegraph's Save a Life campaign is closing in on its target of signing up 200 new blood donors.
The initiative was originally launched in January to find 100 extra donors in North Lincolnshire.

After that target was hit within a month, the campaign, in association with NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), was extended to find another 100.
Now, 186 new donors have registered, just 14 short of the goal.

Holly Mason, lead donor relations manager at NHS Blood and Transplant, said: "It is brilliant news that the Scunthorpe Telegraph has now recruited 186 new blood donors.
"It is great to see the campaign continuing and recruiting so many donors.
"Thanks to everyone who has registered.
"It is not too late to sign up and we especially need 17 to 24-year-olds."
Of the 186 new donors, 101 are from Scunthorpe, with the remainder from across the rest of North Lincolnshire.
Each blood donation can potentially save the lives of up to three people.
Joseph Brierley, 53, of Scunthorpe, gave blood for the 45th time at a session held at the town's Wortley House Hotel on Tuesday. Mr Brierley, whose blood type is A positive, said: "It is something I can do for mankind, it is simple and it helps people.
"I would encourage other people to donate."
Jill Greenhalgh, 57, of Scunthorpe, was at the same session and was donating blood for the 67th time.
She said: "It is something you can do and you never know when you are going to need a blood transfusion, so it just makes you feel good.
"It would be nice to think that more people will come forward."
