New chapter for mobile library services in North Lincolnshire as changes agreed
CHANGES to the region's mobile library service have been approved.
North Lincolnshire Council is set to reduce its provision from two vehicles to one and visit most places every three weeks instead of fortnightly.

A council report states take-up of mobile library services has reduced from 76,500 issues to 43,500 since 2005 and claims one of the existing vehicles requires frequent repair.
The change has been approved by Councillor Carl Sherwood, cabinet member for customer services, sport and leisure.

All of the 62 mainly rural locations on the library's current routes will continue to receive visits.
Burton-Upon-Stather will continue to receive weekly visits, as is currently the case.
Mr Sherwood opted against an alternative option of keeping fortnightly visits elsewhere but going to fewer places.
