“I like the look of the new Homepage which is attractive and gives quick access to the latest news under the subject headings. However I do agree with gordonio about the comments. If articles with recently posted comments went on page one it would be much easier to keep track of readers' opinions. Articles of lesser interest would then automatically move to page 2 or 3.

The arrows do give an overview of general opinion but they appear to be very easy to manipulate. One recent article which had accrued 10 green arrows by late evening had become -2 by the next morning. It seems unlikely that there were suddenly 12 readers with opposing views in such a short space of time.”

“Sparky - the Forum heading is now called Community. Lots of regular posters, such as yourself seem to have disappeared down a black hole. Others must have been banned, as their numbers seem to be increasing i.e. Brian, who is now at four.
I hate having to trawl through all the articles until I find the last comment, much better when it automatically went to the top of page one. And I hate these up and down arrows, they are so pointless, and mean zero.”

“This site is now very much like how the paper has gone.
When it was a daily, I would look forward to sitting down after work and seeing what had gone on locally.
The most annoying part of the daily was there were always the same select letter writers in the viewpoint.
At one point this site was buzzing with opinions when posters could air their views and get a reasonably honest set of replies, be they for, or against, your personal views.
Once it had been decided by ST which topics you could comment on, the topic would be monitored by them and if the main opinion was not to their liking, it would be removed rapidly, especially if it was of a political nature.
Quite frankly, I can't be bothered with this site now, pretty much how I feel about the weekly publication that I don't buy anymore.
BrianPotter4 is absolutely right, it has taken me ages to type this post and correct any spelling or grammatical mistakes I may have spotted.
On a final note, I see there is no forum button, that figures.”

“And the allowing of comments on items still appears to be "random”

“Major changes my ars*! The only change I can see is that you have mover the login tab from the left side of the page to the right! I was flummoxed for a moment! The site still crashes and freezes up all the time! Will you be launching an iPhone app?”
