ONE of the city's best- known businesses has relocated to Hull Marina.

Andrew Jackson has moved into its in the city's historic former Fruit Market.

Managing partner Rob Penrose described the new premises as "amazing" and said the location provides the chance for the firm to expand in the future.

Mr Penrose said: "I have always wanted to work in an office like this and we are really pleased with it.

"We have been looking for a number of years for a new office and this is perfect for us.

"We are committed to the region and have great confidence in the city. We have got room to expand here and have planned it with this in mind.

"That is exciting for us."

Andrew Jackson's new marina location is part of the Wykeland Development and the law firm is one of the first businesses to move into the landmark office complex, following an investment by its owners, the Wykeland Group, of more than half a million pounds.

This area is earmarked as a location with great commercial potential and one of the city's most up-and-coming places.

Andrew Jackson's move follows a major £600,000 internal refurbishment and the new 7,500sq ft office will have 105 employees based there.

Mr Penrose said: "Marina Court suits our requirements perfectly.

"It is on a great location on the marina and is in the Fruit Market, an up-and-coming area of the city."

Andrew Jackson is also one of the partners of the World Trade Centre Hull & Humber.

Mr Penrose said: "I believe this area of the city is really going to develop in the future. From my involvement with the World Trade Centre, I have seen it develop and there is so much going on.

"I don't think many people in the city realise what a great asset it is. There are going to be more and more businesses relocating here."

The new development, combined with the wider Fruit Market regeneration, will establish this part of the city centre as a vibrant area for visitors and cultural, creative and digital businesses.

Built in 1990 by English Estates, Marina Court extends to 39,500sq ft.

The refurbishment has been extensive and has created a different feel to the property with a new lift, new windows throughout, existing office suites being knocked together to create larger floor plates and a general overhaul of the property.
