North Lincolnshire Council gritters sent out across Scunthorpe area to treat major roads
Gritters have been deployed to treat major routes across the region, with sub-zero temperatures forecast overnight.
North Lincolnshire Council's winter maintenance teams were sent out at around 6pm this evening to salt the road network.
The latest forecast suggests temperatures could get as low as -2C in the early hours of tomorrow (Tuesday) morning and remain below freezing point until around 9am.
A message from the council's highways team on social network Twitter said: "Temperatures below freezing tonight. Salting of the main road network from 18:00 hrs. Drive with care."
