Oil refinery workers stage walk out
MORE Than 500 contractors walked out of the Lindsey Oil refinery at Killingholme today in protest over the employment of foreign labour.
The British contractors, who are members of trade Unions Unite and GMB, have told Refinery bosses they will not return to work until Monday.

Demonstrations are planned outside the site gates tomorrow and Friday.
Lindsey Oil Refinery chiefs have yet to make a comment on the walk-out, but a spokesman for the contractors said: "We want to see the jobs for foreign contractors matched equally by UK craftsmen."
It has been confirmed around 400 Portuguese and Italian contractors have been hired to work on a £200-million hydro de-sulphurisation plant.
They will be accommodated in barges berthed in Grimsby docks.

“Despite what Mandelson and Brown say on T V today Sunday with regards having to comply with E U Employment Law Its a load of TRIPE. I live part of my time in Spai n I am now retired.I f either of them took the trouble to check what they say is correct I suggest they obtain a copy of The Costa B lanca News prior to Christmas their was an article in there in relation to all the E U Foreign workers English French German Dutch etc not having their Work Permits Renewed. Most of these people worked in the Construction Industry needless to say as they where laid off their was no jobs for them what jobs where available went to Spanish Workers .This is not heresay its fact ,So to conclude stand up to this Government quicker they are out the better , I as a Labour voter never trhought I would say that

“If the foreign contractors are claiming that their workers are getting the same pay as British workers would, no doubt some adjustments are being to their advantage by providing accommodation on barges. Presumably the unions have looked into this? There is a programme on BBC about this issue tonight.”

“Firstly the French hate us for not surrendering with them to the Germans in the war. Spoil sports. The Spanish hate us for pinching their gold , which incidentally they lifted from the hands of some guy minding his own business in South America many many years ago. The Germans hate us because the British made a water sprinkler system on the Hindenburg airship that failed to work when it came down in flames in the States. How embarrassing. The Italians hate us because they cant make their minds up whether to hate us or not. The Vikings hate us because we wouldn't give them their long boats back after we defeated them finally at some stupid coastal village ending in a viking name something Ness, or Thorpe or by. Does anyone in Europe like us, and do we care.”
