Old knee injury is of no concern says new Iron defender Paul Reid
NEW defensive recruit Paul Reid is keen to point out that his previous injury problems are unlikely to have any impact on his time with Scunthorpe United.
The 28-year-old centre-back was sidelined for seven months after suffering a broken kneecap in 2009, a situation that has caused concern to some Iron fans on the back of his £100,000 move from Colchester at the end of last week.

FIGHTING FIT: New Iron defender Paul Reid.
With David Mirfin and Rob Jones both in and out of the starting line-up this term because of various different niggles, United can ill-afford to have another body on the sidelines.
Reid is confident that won't be the case.
"A lot has been made of the knee injury I had," said the Cumbrian.
"But it was two years ago that I actually had the injury and while it did keep me out for while, I have played maybe 40 games since then and have had no problem with it.
"As far as I am concerned I am well over it."
Reid endured a difficult Iron debut in Saturday's 4-0 loss at Leeds, but is confident he can bring enough fight to the table to aid the club's survival mission.
"I looked at the league table before I came here and I am under no illusions that we are in a fight," he added.
"But hopefully I can help this club stay up and pass on that desire to the rest of the lads.
"I am sure they have got it already but that half a per cent might make all the difference."

“Well said Reidy....we need some believers, I think we can still stay up for sure, we just needed to strengthen the squad. Welcome on board, and I wish you great success. UTI”
