Johnson’s first game in charge will be tomorrow’s six-pointer at home to Hartlepool United, when his team have the chance to plunge the Iron back into the relegation zone.
The Latics are currently two points adrift of Scunthorpe in the bottom four, but play the first of two games in hand tomorrow night.

He finds himself in the same division as his father, Gary, who is in charge at Yeovil.
The Oldham Evening Chronicle have reported that he was interviewed at the club on Wednesday and ‘blew other contenders out of the water’, according to a source, beating 120 applicants.
