​LEGALLY Blonde star Sheridan Smith has was named Best Actress in a Musical at the prestigious Oliver Awards.

The Epworth-born actress thanked “everyone who let a chav play an American rich girl”.

A tearful Smith added: “When they said my name my dad started crying and that just started me off.

“I’m a complete chav, I can’t believe I’ve just won an Olivier award.”

The ceremony was held last night at the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane, London.

Last month, the former Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps star scooped the Whatsonstage.com theatre goers’ choice award for her role in the hit West End musical.
