Michael Palm Toft insists the Scorpions' unexpectedly busy weekend will make little difference to their play-off chances.

Scunthorpe had been due to visit Edinburgh last Friday but heavy rain saw the meeting put back a week.

They head to Scotland having already run the rule over the Monarchs with a 59-34 success at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Sunday, with two clashes against Workington to follow.

But Palm Toft says spirits are high as the Scorpions attempt to manoeuvre their way through the group.

"We actually wanted to run on Friday so we knew what we were up against at home," said the Dane.

"We have three in a row now but it doesn't make it any harder.

"Friday we wanted to get on with it so we knew how big a lead they had or we had.

"Now we go to their track with a good lead, which is good.

"I actually do feel confident about going to Edinburgh, but anything can happen.

"I've had a really bad meeting there and I had a really good meeting.

"I want to keep it up after my good meeting there."

He has every chance of doing that at Workington, where he has excelled as a guest in recent weeks, bagging 13 points against Plymouth and seven against Leicester.

"The track has been a bit inconsistent when we've been there," said Palm Toft.

"It's not the same every week, which isn't bad for the away teams actually.

"We just need to get out the gates and then go from there.

"This is the best form I've had the whole year, definitely.

"I spent my money on my engine and all that and get it all serviced properly instead of waiting until the end of the year.

"I just keep spending and that's what helps.

"It's definitely a lot to do with confidence, but the equipment too."
