UPDATED: Pedestrian disappears after being spotted on Humber Bridge
The coastguard and the Humberside police helicopter joined officers involved in a search after a man was seen on the side of the Humber Bridge yesterday afternoon (Thursday, October 18).
Police said a man was seen on the wrong side of the barriers on the bridge at 4.20pm.

A spokesman for the force said last night: "Police are searching the area around the Humber Bridge after a person went missing after being spotted on the wrong side of the barrier.
"A member of the public alerted officers after seeing the person on the wrong side of the barrier at 4.20pm today.

"With the person unaccounted for, police conducted a search of the area."
A further police statement issued this morning added: "Officers attended the Humber Bridge and searches have been conducted to establish the circumstances of the incident, which at this time remain unclear.
"Police enquiries are being supported by the Coastguard and the police helicopter will be assisting officers on the ground."
