Perfume theft from Boots in Ashby proves costly for Scunthorpe man
A THIEF has been in the dock for stealing two bottles of perfume.
Stephen Herdman, 22, of Porter Street, Scunthorpe, stole two bottles of Armani worth £74 from Boots on Ashby High Street on January 22.

Herdman admitted theft at North Lincolnshire Magistrates' Court.
Prosecutor Rebecca Dolby said Herdman told police he did it with the intention of either selling the perfumes or using them himself.

Vicky Lee, mitigating, said: "Problems started around two years ago when he and his partner had a house fire and they lost everything, including all of their belongings. Difficult financial circumstances led to the behaviour and the offences."
Herdman was handed a £70 fine, told to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
