IN THE final embers of the season in the Scunthorpe and District Bowls League, there is still much to be resolved.

Perrys look in pole position to claim the Division One title with one match still to play – but could still be caught by Brigg.

Perrys left the door slightly ajar with an 8-4 defeat at third-placed Cemetery Road who would seem to have too much to do to be contenders themselves.

Brigg kept their hopes alive with a 10-2 success at Scunthorpe.

Haxey, who are finishing the season in storming form, have wrapped up the Division Two title.

And a strong finish could see Burton sneak into runners-up spot ahead of App-Frod who have already completed their fixtures.

Burton won 8-4 at Brumby Hall to keep their hopes very much alive.

Everything is resolved in Division Three, with Railway steaming to the title.

It was a photo-finish for runners-up spot in Division Four.

Gainsborough missed out to Cemetery Road C by a single point after slipping up 9-3 at Haxey B.

Runners-up spot is still very much up for grabs though in Division Five with Railway B bidding for a promotion double for their club.

They currently trail Rose Leisure C by four points – but have a vital match in hand.

The ladies league title is not yet decided, though App-Frod remain hot favourites with just one match left, despite an 8-2 defeat at Winterton.

That has left the door still just open for Cemetery Road who picked up 8-2 victories home and away against bottom-placed Messingham.
