Picture still unclear for Blockbuster and HMV Scunthorpe stores
THE future of the HMV and Blockbuster stores in Scunthorpe today still hangs in the balance, as administrator Deloitte searches for buyers.
Having officially been appointed administrators to the company, Deloitte says that Scunthorpe's HMV store will continue trading while a buyer is sought.

But Blockbuster, prior to appointing administrators, earmarked a handful of stores for closure.
Administrators have not disclosed the number or location of these stores, but have said that there could potentially be more closures on top of those already identified.

“Comet, Jessops, HMV, Blockbuster.....Furthermore huge concerns over the trend of conventional retail versus online buying!!
And what does Scunthorpe with its the world and its dog owes us a living, failing town mentality decide to do?! Continue with driving M & S away by another appeal against the Simons development proposal!!
You couldn't make it up, how hard you tried!!”
