Police catch up with 'jogging' thief
Police tracked down a shoplifter who "jogged off" after a thieving mission at a bargain store, a court heard.
Anthony Lowthorpe, 37, of Princess House, King Street, Scunthorpe, admitted stealing two children's scooters, valued at £39.98, from Bargain Madness on June 21.
Jayne Wilson, prosecuting, told North Lincolnshire magistrates that Lowthorpe picked up two Disney Princess scooters from the store on the High Street in Scunthorpe and walked out. He "jogged off" but the police were alerted and he was arrested two days later.
Jason Nicholson, mitigating, said Lowthorpe had been making progress on a community order imposed on August 28.
