retail: The Post Office is seeking partnerships with retail firms for 70 of its main high street branches, saying the move will help them remain in their current locations.

The organisation said no compulsory redundancies were being planned as a result of the announcement.

There are 373 so-called Crown Post Offices, sited mainly in high streets or busy shopping centres.

The Post Office said they were losing £40m a year, so it was seeking retail partners for 70 branches, enabling them to stay in their current locations.
