Police say that on entering the car park to the sports ground, the grey Seat Leon Mr Matthews was driving "came into contact with a piece of car park furniture", which resulted in him sustaining fatal injuries.
The "piece of car park furniture" is thought to be a barrier or gate.
Police have spoken to a number of people who were in the area at the time of the incident and are now asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call 101, quoting log 586 of 29 August 2012.

“This is the correct terminology Osprey, just like street furniture, it could mean a lamp post, a bench, a litter bin etc.”

“A piece of car park furniture - who makes this up, why not say a barrier or a gate?”
