Potholes pose particular problems - Pat Wells of Scunthorpe
WHY am I not surprised reading in the Telegraph that North Lincolnshire has one of the worst records for potholes?
The report states our footpaths are also bad. Well if the cyclists get off riding on the path, this wouldn’t happen. The surface is for footfall not bikes.

A local pothole awaiting attention
I report as many as I can officially through the council’s website, I would encourage all motorists to do the same.
During this very wet weather, so many bad potholes are hidden by puddles and these silent hazards are particularly bad for motorbikers. The council plasters the roadsides with posters “THINK BIKES” – take note NLC.

How many motorists have had to have tyres resealed after hitting one of these potholes, at a cost of £15 plus, apart from the dangers of hitting one of these potholes or making a sudden movement to try and avoid them.
I needed to warn Lincolnshire Council as a stretch of the A15, almost at the boundary with North Lincolnshire, was very dangerous. I think most councils leave potholes far too low on the list of priorities.
I have also had to bring manhole covers to the attention of the council.
Many are just collapsing either through heavy traffic or being badly maintained and most of these are the responsibility of the utility services.
Make North Lincolnshire Council aware of these many hazards. If you see one, report it. - Pat Wells, Scunthorpe
