Power cut affects parts of Scunthorpe area (Updated)
A high voltage fault in the network was at the root of this morning’s power cut which left more than 8,500 customers in Scunthorpe without electricity.
Engineers from YEDL are still working to investigate the cause of the cut-out which created a high voltage fault in the network.
The power supply was disrupted in parts of the Scunthorpe area shortly before 10am, including the town centre, Ashby and Gallagher Retail Park.
A spokeswoman for YEDL said 8,500 people had been affected. Within 10 minutes around 4,000 customers had their power switched back on and by 11am just 300 customers were still without power.
