Power generation from round two and three wind farms
THE Humber Gateway forms part of the round two wind farms, which were announced in 2003.
Other developments within the same round include Westermost Rough, which is about 15 miles from Spurn Point.
Located 8km off the East Yorkshire coast, the Humber Gateway offshore wind farm will consist of 73 turbines, which will generate up to 219MW.
Once complete, the offshore wind farm will be capable of generating enough electricity to power 170,000 UK homes.

“("Power generated by Humber Gateway – enough to satisfy the demands of up to 170,000 homes")
NO, I dont think so -
not according to the following info taken from the
Department of Energy & Climate Change ( DECC ) & Grid figs
( Digest of United Kingdom Energy Statistics ( DUKES)
http://tinyurl.com/n4k7n8 )
See Pages 121, 140, 144, 160, 186
UK annual Capacity factors- (the % of possible output, that is actually produced)
Coal = 42 %,
Gas = 62 %,
Hydro = 35 %,
Nuclear =61 %,
Pumped storage = 14 %,
Solar = 8 %,
Wind = 27 %,
So the true figure is 27% of 170,000 = 45,900
BUT
today's wind capacity factor (cold night, little wind) is only 13.1 %
so that fig should be 22,270
meaning 147,730 homes would NOT be satisfied.
That 170,000 figure is wind turbine spin ….note the words "UP TO 219MW".
It's another Subsidy SCAM.
Just over £1 billion was added to our bills, to pay foreign developers.... this year !!!”
