Presidents Putter proves to be a breeze for triumphant Slater
ANDY Slater came through some of the worst winds ever seen at Grange Park to win the Presidents Putter award on Presidents Putter and Invitation Day.
His 37 points triumphed over Mel Lings and Chris Kirton on 35, with Lings getting the nod for second place on count-back.

There was no separating Andy Wood (Ashby Decoy) and Dean Moulson (Elsham) in the guests individual competition. The pair both recorded 33 points, with Wood receiving the honours on a count-back.
The pairs members and guest award was won by Mick Swaby and Dean Moulson, with club captain Pete Holland and guest Tim Barnby (Ashby Decoy) taking second place.
Nearest the pin on the fourth was claimed by guest Graham Shephardson (Southwell GC), who was also the solitary winner of the twos competition.
Tony Chapman claimed the seventh, former captain John Wilks the 14th, and Mark Doust the 18th.
The committee and members of Grange Park would like to offer their congratulations to Matthew Cuthbert, who this week has passed his PGA playing ability test, putting him on the long road towards becoming a professional golfer.
