Quality performance earns victory on the road for Scunthorpe bowlers
SCUNTHORPE Men played some quality bowls to secure a win at Skegness in the Lincolnshire County Over-60s League.
The visitors started well, producing some good form to earn a deserved overall lead of 29 shots to 13.

Scunthorpe maintained that advantage and secured a win of 16 points to six (106 shots to 78).
The rink of Bill Jackson, John Painter, Derek Leeson and Jim Davidson were always in control of their match and led throughout.

Vinny Bolton, Stan Shellard, Tom Whiteley and Ray Robinson bowled extremely well in their encounter, taking an early lead and maintaining it to run out 23-10 winners.
Alan Trown, Peter Bennett, John Rayner and John Hopkinson built on a good start to take the victory, 22-17.
Gordon Bissett, Arthur Meggett, Neil Rowe and Alex Mullin were involved in an evenly-balanced battle until the final few ends, when they hung on to win 18-16.
Bill Hutson, Len Lammas, Ron Kelly and Phil Boulton found their opponents on top form and suffered a 24-15 defeat.
