THE top three in Ashby Decoy's Saturday Am/Am had to be separated on count-back.

The quartet of John Pottage, Mike Ellis, Stewart Johnson and Steve Pottage ran out winners with 94 points.

The count over the back six saw Tim Barnby, Andrew Wood, Mick McHale and Gary Keena take second from Chris Gibbons, Tony Clarke, Dave Robinson and Brian Kilminster.

The scoring was also of a high standard when the men played a three-ball Am/Am.

The team led by Ralph Mitchell, with Kev Stanham and Chris Machin, took first place with 85 points.

Second was claimed by Andy Langford, Dave Smith and Neil Norvock with 80.

McHale and Keena continued their good form in the Captain/Pro Challenge.

The challengers held a three-hole advantage after the 14th, leaving captain Keith Moody and pro Andy Miller with a real uphill battle.

The challengers held their nerve to seal a 3&2 victory on the 16th.

The ladies played two Better Ball Stableford competitions.

The first was won by ladies' captain Yvonne Cook and vice-captain Dian Humphries, with a score of 39 points.

The second was won by Humphries and Marilyn Hall with a cracking 45 points.

First place in the seniors' weekly Am/Am went to seniors' captain Mike Cole, Richard Bowers, Stan Ward and Tony Keech with 85 points. The twos pot was shared by six players.
