A ROBBER allegedly threatened staff in a raid on a Scunthorpe bookmakers.

Police are appealing for information following the robbery at the Coral betting shop, Doncaster Road.

The man demanded money from the cashier and made off on foot with the cash.

It happened last night (Monday) at around 8.42pm.

A police spokeswoman said it was too early to say if the raid was linked with other robberies at betting shops.

She said: "There have been a number of incidents in which bookmakers have been targeted across Scunthorpe in recent weeks.

"Officers are conducting a number of enquiries in connection with the robberies and at this time it is too early to establish if they are linked.

"Police would like to thank people who have come forward and provided information."
