Music legend Little Richard who will be 80 on Wednesday (Dec 5) played in Scunthorpe at the Drill Hall, Cottage Beck Road, on May 23, 1964.

Scunthorpe's Johnny Ballad Group was one of the support acts and bassist Barry Garner recalls he lent his guitar to one of the American musicians, Scunthorpe Telegraph long-serving reporter Nick Cole recalls.
