Ready for changes?
finance: Too many employers are relying on their payroll prov- iders to support their real time information (RTI) compliance, according to a PwC survey.
This is raising the risk that many will not be ready in time for the April deadline.
The survey of almost 200 HR and payroll professionals found that virtually all employers (99 per cent) surveyed said they will need some level of support to ensure they are ready to start reporting PAYE information to HMRC in real time.
Worryingly, more than half (52 per cent) of respondents said they expect their pay- roll provider to supply the support required for RTI. This is despite about one in four (24 per cent) companies believing their payroll provider has not yet finalised their RTI compliant software. More than half (53 per cent) are unclear whether their payroll provider has any RTI compliant software.
