Region 'important' to LEP
The importance of northern Lincolnshire to the Greater Lincolnshire LEP has been underlined by chairman Ursula Lidbetter, who said it would have been "a nonsense" if the county had been cut off from the "powerhouses" of Grimsby and Scunthorpe.
She said that "without North and North East Lincolnshire we would not be as effective as we could be", and stressed that the Lincolnshire LEP was not in competition with its Humber counterpart, of which northern Lincolnshire is also a part.
"Businesses don't think about boundaries, and to cut our area randomly off would have been a nonsense," she said.
"We were delighted when North and North East Lincolnshire agreed to become part of the Greater Lincolnshire LEP and we were more than happy for them to be part of two LEPs.

"We are not in conflict. This is not about fighting for growth. It is about creating growth."
And she said the LEP was pushing for more to help the area.
"We are lobbying for a skills centre of excellence for the care and leisure sectors, and for further skills training in food technology," she said.
She added that tourism was another key sector shared by both the northern and southern parts of the county, and announced plans for a programme to help businesses negate seasonality.
