Reid: No more time to settle in, now I must prove myself
IT CAN hardly be described as a honeymoon period, more a baptism of fire.
But nevertheless, defender Paul Reid insists his settling in period at Scunthorpe United is now over.

FRESH IDEAS: Defender Paul Reid believes joining Scunthorpe United midway through the season can help the Iron's relegation battle as he brings a different outlook to Glanford Park. Picture: Carl Gac.
Admittedly, it hasn't gone as planned, with the Iron collecting only a single point in the three games the centre-back has been involved since joining last month.
However, Reid is committed to ensuring this is a match made in heaven.
The former Colchester man hopes he can help United as much as they can help him.
Having been confined to League One for the past three years, he is determined to prolong his spell in the Championship for as long as possible.
And, unburned by Scunthorpe's toils of the past few months, particularly on their own turf, Reid believes he and his fellow January recruits can ensure this is a new era at Glanford Park.
"We've come in with fresh ideas, a different take on things, and that can only be a good thing," he explained.
"I don't know how the lads feel running out here, I don't know if they do feel a little bit of pressure because they haven't picked up results at home. But the new lads don't feel that.
"We're not burdened by anything that's happened previously.
"We've come in with a fresh look on things and a fresh impetus and we're looking to kick on.
"I'm actually surprised the home record isn't as good as it was in previous years.
"I think it suits us here. It's tight, and with the fans behind us I think we could do okay here.
"If we can keep doing the right things and keep working hard, eventually it will turn.
"It's pretty much the same as what I think in my career. If I keep doing the right things, and keep working hard, eventually your luck will turn.
"That's what I'm hoping our home form will do."

“Gartons been at SUFC for decades on 5k worth of shares - HOW ABOUT ASKING HIM WHEN HE IS GOING TO DO SOMETHING? (an the rest of the voiceless board of directors).
Good look Reid - you can be our new MINISTER OF DEFENCE.
Up the Iron!”
