Relief for Scunthorpe Scorpions as Josh Auty injury not as bad as first thought
The Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions have received the huge boost that No 1 Josh Auty did not break his wrist in a crash during Sunday's Speedway Premier League Riders’ Championship at Sheffield.
There were concerns that Auty would be ruled out for the remainder of the season after a horrific crash in yesterday’s semi-final, but these fears have proved to be unfounded.
Scorpions’ team manager Richard Hollingsworth said: “This is a massive relief. I was pleased as punch to receive a message from Josh, telling me his wrist is not broken, and that he will be fit for our potential play-off final matches.
“I’m so glad. Josh has been an integral part of our success so far this season, and it would be have been so harsh on him, had he been forced to miss the final through injury.”
