Rewarding businesses
AWARDS: Businesses in the East Riding have been rewarded for their safety, public health initiatives and customer care.
At the second East Riding Best Bar None Awards, the Royal Mail in Thorngumbald was the overall winner of the scheme and won the best community premises category.

At the event, funded by the National Best Bar None Group, the New Inn in Hornsea was named best pub; Weir Bar in Hessle won best bar and the Lobster Pot in Bridlington was awarded top spot in the best food-led/family- friendly category.
Councillor Claude Mole, vice-chairman of East Riding Council, said: "The effort of all the participants is highly commendable, bringing lots of rewards for licensees, including the prestige of being part of the awards scheme, increased business in the area and lower insurance premiums resulting from the fact that they are running safer establishments.
