Rise in the number of job seekers in North Lincolnshire

The number of job seekers in North Lincolnshire has increased during the last month.

The number of people claiming job seekers allowance in February was 5,134, 200 more than the January figure of 4,934.

It is also 526 more than the December figure of 4,608.

The number of claimants is 4.8 per cent of the working age population, below the Yorkshire and Humber average of 4.9 per cent, but higher than the national average figure of 3.9 per cent.

The number of people claiming job seekers allowance in Scunthorpe rose by 131.

Year-on-year figures show that unemployment in North Lincolnshire is down by 190, with 5,324 people claiming job seekers allowance last February.
