Robbery in Crosby area of Scunthorpe - police appeal for witnesses

A robbery in Scunthorpe is being investigated by police, who are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The incident happened at the junction of Frodingham Road and Digby Street between midnight and 1am on Saturday, September 15.

A 35-year-old man was walking with a friend along Digby Street when a man approached them.

A verbal altercation followed and the 35 year-old was assaulted and told to hand over his mobile phone and money.

The victim declined to do so. But, fearing he might be assaulted again, he gave the offender his jacket.

This was later recovered in the Buckingham Street area of town and handed in to police.

The victim attended Scunthorpe General Hospital and was treated for a lump on his head.
