STUDENTS and staff at a Scunthorpe college took part in a fun run for charity.

More than 100 people took part in the event at John Leggott College, some of which even dressed up in fancy dress for the occasion, which was set up to raise money for Help For Heroes.

Brian Meeres, local coordinator for the Help the Heroes charity, said: "It is fantastic to see the students and staff are helping the charity. For me it shows those people serving in the forces that they are supported in what they are doing.

"It is good to see events like this happening at the grass roots level."

A total of £273.77 was raised from the event.
