SCUNTHORPE UNITED: Bookies say play-off push is best bet
SCUNTHORPE United are being tipped by the bookmakers to have a good season in League One.
Skybet.com offer odds of 10/1 on the Iron to win the title, making Alan Knill's men sixth favourites to claim the league crown, but real play-off contenders.
Favourites with Skybet are Sheffield Wednesday who last week started strengthening their squad for the new campaign by signing former Iron centre back Rob Jones.
The Owls are quoted at 5/1, just in front of Huddersfield and Preston on 6/1.
But it's the big-spending Terriers, who crashed 3-0 to Peterborough in Sunday's League One play-off final, who have been made 4/1 favourites for the title by Coral.
They have Scunthorpe as seventh favourites at 14/1.

“Seriously though. As if the bookies have got a Scooby Doo where we'll finish next season. Championship club last season - finger in the air - seventh favourite it is then.”

“Good odds for an average team with a less than average attendances for the division just about keeping their heads above water.I guess Eddie might go in to meltdown with these odds if he hasn't already?.The Iron,The Hammers and The Blades will all find it hard to punch above their weight next season. It's hard to be optimistic for the beleagured fans of this team with a pensioner at the helm.”
