Sales underway for Iron's Carling Cup clash with Manchester United
SEASON ticket holders of Scunthorpe United started snapping up their places for this month's Carling Cup tie with Manchester United as soon as sales started online yesterday.
Some tried to use the Iron's online system for the first time to secure their seats.

INTEREST: Iron fans are already snapping up tickets for Scunthorpe Unitedâs Carling Cup tie.
"We had a number of telephone calls from fans needing our help because they had done something wrong with their online applications," said a club spokesman.
United have something like just over 3,500 season ticket holders, restricted to just one ticket each for the third round clash with Manchester United on Wednesday, September 22.
"A lot of them did buy tickets online yesterday," the club spokesman confirmed.
They are available online again today for season ticket holders, and then available for them to buy at the club office from 10am tomorrow.
Iron membership card holders can begin to purchase their tickets online from 5pm on Monday.
They too can then buy them from the club's ticket office, from next Tuesday.
No tickets will be put on general sale until Monday, September 13.
Ticket prices are £25 seating and £21 for the terraces, with concessionary prices available.

“Quite a few erroneous comments below. Anyone who has ever attended a game at GP will know that the vast majority of supporters are concessions, either juniors or OAPs.
Can the SET tell us the proportion of full price season ticket sales ? It probably reflects national and local demographics.
If the online booking is as useless as this website (an error has occured is the most frequent message) then no surprises.
If Saints offer then Adkins should go. A much bigger club that he would get promoted this season and the resources to have a go at the PL. Adkins doesn't owe SUFC anything. He has performed miracles at GP.”

“The club spokesman saying they'd had a number of phone calls from fans who had done something wrong with their online application - I spoke to numerous people in the queue who couldn't even get passed the first page when buying online or were kicked back to the first page part way through - I suggest its not us but the system that is useless!! Come on SUFC sort it out and you wouldn't have the queues that were there today”

“Baker was a scout at Norwich - Longden runs a post office and I think Mudd is a hairdresser in Hull (not 100% on that one).
Juryeff was a coach at Southampton, Ormonroyd does a similar job at Oldham....
I also see that ex Iron Craig Shakespear is number two at Hull City under Nigel Pearson (recently taken to hospital with a 'bad side').
Up the Iron!”

“Forget Hooper. How about tracking down a trio of Pauls - Baker, Mudd and Longden. Or perhaps a feature on past Ians? Juryeff, Ormonroyd? You could call it "Ianteresting Days". I'm dying to know what they're up to these days, and with a name-based hook to hang the story on, what are you waiting for ET?”

“Sorry Saints fan but your club is a proper little club. Big support yes, but you have a chairman who has just died-turmoil, and your league 1 plus you have record of treating managers horribly e.g. Pardew. If you knew the bloke then you would know that he is looking up rather than down. Unless he's eyeing up Lambert or a signing.”

“This draw has been a god send hasn't it? Great way to fill column inches when, if we'd drawn Rochdale or Barnet instead, the ET would have been forced to address the lack of reinforcements (as promised by Byrne last week). Or would they?”
