Sam is ready for midfield battle
THIS is the part of the season Sam Togwell enjoys best.
The time for attractive football has passed, and now Scunthorpe United's midfield marshal is looking forward to the cut-and-thrust of securing Championship survival.

Sam Togwell.
With the Iron hovering just above the relegation zone, Togwell's combative streak can really come into its own over the remaining 12 games.
And he has called on the rest of his team-mates to do the same and prove they are good enough to shine in the second tier.
"It's brilliant," he said of the season's final straight.
"At the start of the season playing good football mattered and we played some great football.
"But it doesn't now.
"It's a results business and we need all the points we can get.
"You can play the best football in the league but it might not get you anywhere.
"We're going to have to dig in from now until the end of the season."

“It sounds like it's going to be an agressive style of play from the team. I certainly hope that we are going to have controlled agression combined with some good footballing. If we go in with a tactic of hoofing the ball and hacking the opposition then we won't stand a chance. We will have players sent off - and unlike other teams we do not rise to the occassion with a man down. The weekends results were not favourable for us with the teams around us beating teams in the top half (why can't we do that?). My team for the weekend - Lillis, Byrne, Mirfin, Raynes, Williams,
Thompson, McCann, Togwell, Sparrow, Hayes, Hooper.
Good Luck boys - a point from this would be good, 3 points a bonus!!”
