PUPILS and teachers in Broughton have proved they have what it takes to stay at the top after chalking-up another impressive Ofsted report.

Broughton Junior School, on Brigg Road, has been labelled a 'good school' with many 'outstanding' features following an inspection in May.

Peter Hargrave, headteacher at Broughton Junior School, said he was thrilled but said this was not the first time the school had shone during an Ofsted inspection.

"This is my fourth Ofsted since I've been headteacher here and all these reports have found this to be a good school with outstanding features so that's a real achievement for my staff and myself," he said.

"It proves that Broughton has been a good school for almost 20 years."

The report stated that the school, which has 227 pupils on roll, has above average attainment overall,

notably in science and mathematics.

"This is a good school and some features are outstanding, especially the care it takes of pupils and most aspects of their personal development," it added.

"Staff respond very sensitively to pupils' individual needs and are excellent role models."
