    “@ DFlated

Why would schools be closed anyway today? As a society we appear to be led to believe it is acceptable that one group of working age people it seems are entitled to take the day off when it snows. Mostly they use the same excuse of H&S effecting kids when all they have to do is clear the path way from school gate to doors of school building, that's risk assessment done. Kid's school transport out of town and on motorway network using large coaches is a different issue with different risk assessment considerations. Kids that have arrived late to school or not at all due to exceptional factors due to bus transport problem should be marked by the school in a different way.

You are correct about the dumbing down of society in general though. Some would say peoples minds are been kept off the real issues by the constant celebrity TV shows / certain sports / cheap alcohol to name but a few.

Why not find out why so many men and women are taking their own lives, or find out how many homeless people are in Scunthorpe or find out how many working / none working people are using local food banks. Find out how many jobs have been created in Scunthorpe last week, also what type of jobs in what industries and also if they were part time or full time.”

“Because it is thawing !!!! - temperatures pushing double figures early next week - NOT FREEZING AS REPORTED YESTERDAY - stop this dumbing down and sensationalising of normal weather conditions - GET OUT AND DO SOME REAL REPORTING AMY - you and your buddy Simon are lazy.

What about the Euro referendum and how it would affect local industry. What would an exit from the EU affect Tata. Would it make them rethink operations in the UK? - GET ON THE RUDDY PHONE AND ASK THEM - give us REAL news.”
