Scunthorpe Baths box office opens today
The box office at North Lincolnshire's newest entertainment venue in Scunthorpe opens to the public today (Monday).
The newly-opened facility at the Baths Hall will sell tickets for all events at the Baths Hall and the Plowright Theatre.
The Baths box office will be open for business on weekdays between 10.30am and 4pm.
Since the Baths re-opened, sales have been handled from the Plowright Theatre, in Laneham Street.
Dan Harris, General Manager of The Baths Hall, on Doncaster Road, said: "We have had a fantastic start to the year – the week beginning January 9 saw the venue sell more tickets than in any other seven-day period since we opened in November.
"Brendan Cole's Live and Unjudged Show has already sold out and performances by The Moscow City Ballet are proving especially popular.
"With our Box Office staff now in place we're looking forward to inviting guests to see the venue for themselves."
Opening hours are to also be extended at The Plowright Theatre.
As well as keeping the current opening hours (10.30am-4pm Monday-Friday), the Plowright will now also open between 10am and 2pm on Saturdays.
There are a number of exciting events taking place at The Baths Hall in the coming weeks.
Scunthorpe-born artist Lee Coleman will be displaying his Mr Faceless series of art from 30 January, Brendan Cole brings his Live and Unjudged tour on February 1 and rock musical American Anthems comes to town on February 11.
The Plowright Theatre has Let's Hang On: The Music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons on February 4.
Wilton Productions present The Young Ones from February 7 to 11.
Tickets are also available from www.scunthorpetheatres.co.uk or telephone 0844 8542776.

“Isn't Twinkle Toes on at the Baths tonight?
Get yersens to one of the many fine drinking establishments near to Brit corner and get pre-loaded with ale prior to being fleeced with the Baths bar prices.”

“Also note that SMG are now advertising for an electrical maintenance engineer, that will cost between 22000 and 30000 a year.
More losses.
I can't imagine there is a great deal to do that merits a full time employee after all the place is never open -what maintenace can that cause to be necessary?
But hey what do SMG care its all just tax payers money anyway.”

“Just checked the Baths "whats On Website" I think they have added Beyond the baricades since last I looked.
Once again a gig that could have taken place at the Plowright.
SMG still doing nothing to inspire or attempt to earn their money.”

“@Angrier - couldn't agree more. Can't wait to see the first set of annual accounts for the venue in the Autumn. Should be enlightening to say the least.”

“Firstly thanks Telegraph for hopefully bringing this White Elephant back on to the agenda (on a day when the BBC website are on about a pink elephant).
Interesting that you should mention that there's something on at the Baths on 30th the Baths official whats on doesn't mention it!
More of the same completely inadequate, why are we paying SMG?
Can you investigate and find out how much January at the Baths has cost the tax payer?
NOTHING else on for a month or more!
No wonder they didnt have a box office!
So now we have to pay to have 2 box offices open rather than one, oh and guess what, the losses are underwritten by you and me!
The irony of the articles about the Ropery in barton attracting better acts has not been lost on me. What is it they want to spend 800 quid on a new gate, we've spent 17million on this and have nothing to show for it.
So whats to do?
Come on Council Leisure department get a final written warning off to SMG for failing to do any work in January at all. This would not have happened in the "real world".”
