General manager Dan Harris says: "We have lots to look forward to in 2013. The Moscow State Circus make their first ever visit to North Lincolnshire in early February with a mammoth cast of Russia's greatest and most talented circus artistes.

“To be in profit and based on the management costs and funding repayments figures released by the Council, the venue would have to clear roughly £30,000 per week every week just to break even. So in answer to the profit question, do the maths”

“Top venue/top acts mmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!! I think what most of North Lincolnshire taxpayers would like to know is the ACTUAL cost to them over the next 20/25 years as agreed by Captain Kirk is,and is the venue making a proft or not!!!!!!! Personally I prefer going to the Plowright Theatre.”

“Well as one of the venues biggest supporters it saddens me to say that I agree with everything that was said about boxing night. I spent more time at the bar than I did watching the band that we had paid to see, my wife was left on her own for most of the night waiting for me to return with the drinks.
I'm not surprised there was no-one there on new years eve because we never saw it advertised anywhere apart from on the back of the toilet doors where the hastily created advert suggested they were selling tickets for new years eve 2013!

I think the Baths should stick to the theatre type events, I don't think they have their finger on the pulse regarding whats needed at the dance type events as people tend to drink a lot more on those nights and I don't think they really want that despite the fact that they could make a lot of money through selling more drinks.

Had it not been for the drinks fiasco I would have gone on new years eve but it looks like it wasn't only us, everyone else voted with their feet, some in the queues for a drink were vowing never to return.

    A real shame.”

“The Boxing Night fiasco was a lot more than simple queuing at the bar for up to an hour - and it's far from being the first time. No cloakrooms, insufficient seating, no warm up disco or close down disco - many people felt once the band finished they were simply expected to vacate. To date and at every function of this type there have been some serious short comings. Once or twice early on is understandable - a year in and it's just getting worse means no-one is addressing it in fact it smacks of the problems being ignored. If this were a privately owned business then it really wouldn't be an issue - they'd be broke by now. However, it's a £20+ million, 25 year, local taxpayer funded and subsidised debt and oddly enough the public might just want it run right EVERY time. It's not rocket science - every pub in town can cope with high volume but this venue cannot?? It beggars belief.

That said by New Years Eve they got over the bar queuing issue and there were no problems - OK maybe the less than 40 people who tipped up helped ease the load ... and quite a few of them jumped ship before midnight”

“Yes I too have heard about the fiasco at The Baths on Boxing day with people having to wait for over 45 minutes at the bar along with a multitude of other Baths blunders. The waiting time at he bar was always an issue with the old Baths and it looks like the mangement of the new Baths have carried on where the previous lot left off. It's a shame this new iconic venue appears to be incompetently run.”

“With the Hairy Bikers you get two for one, a down to earth cookery programme and a comedy sketch thrown in too. I bet ***** Cradock and poor old hen-pecked Johnny are doing somersaults in their grave.
Crickfan, can you elaborate on your comment?”
