Generations of North Lincolnshire children paid in weekly amounts at school to the Trustees Savings Bank and became customers for life, in many cases. Later, Lloyds and TSB teamed up.
However, by the end of this year the finance group intends to switch the majority of branches, products and services currently branded Lloyds TSB to operate under the Lloyds Bank brand.
The removal of the TSB name from the signage of the Scunthorpe branch at 106 High Street will take place if, or when, North Lincolnshire Council decides to grant advertisement consent.
Lloyds Banking Group is currently seeking permission to display 14 illuminated and non-illuminated advertisement signs on the building, including two fascia and two projecting/hanging signs.
To support its application, the company has supplied an artist's impression to show how the current Lloyds TSB sign will be replaced with a white-on-green sign simply saying Lloyds Bank.
