Scunthorpe Dragons slayer aims to take on world
SCUNTHORPE Dragons' Den star Sharon Wright is going from strength to strength after revealing "major" new year deals in Europe and the Middle East.
Sharon told the Telegraph the deals were in the pipeline as word of her MagnaMole product spread as a result of her appearance on the hit BBC show in July.
She also said she has relocated her office from Scunthorpe to Letchworth, near Luton, but is continuing to live in Scunthorpe and commuting.
Sharon said she has just spent two days in Lyon in France and a deal is being put together with a distributor based there to serve the whole of Europe with the MagnaMole product.
And in January, Sharon will find out about an order for the Middle East and said: "That will be a major order."
She now has two members of staff working for her in Letchworth – both of them from the Scunthorpe area.
They are looking after logistics and international sales.
Sharon's performance on Dragons' Den was seen as a textbook example of how to do it.
And the Dragons, who are known for grilling hopeful entrepreneurs and some dismissive comments about their pitches, all wanted to invest.
Sharon was soon achieving major deals for the MagnaMole invention from her base at the Queensway Business Centre in Scunthorpe.
But her new office location means that she is just 18 minutes away from London on the train.
She said her new office was itself in an old mill, adding: "It's like a mini Dragons' Den."
