Find out how Scunthorpe General Hospital is improving nursing care
Members of the public are invited to a talk to hear about the improvements being made in nursing care at the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The free talk is taking place at Scunthorpe General Hospital at 10:30am on Thursday, March 14 in the Lecture Hall at Butterwick House.
The event is open to the public and will be led by Dr Karen Dunderdale, the chief nurse at the Trust.
The talk will cover the trial of the hydrant system at the hospital which is helping improve hydration in patients and the new beside documentation which was introduced last year across the trust. The National Early Warning Score (NEWS), document helps improve patient safety by identifying patients who have changing or more urgent health care needs.

Dr Dunderdale said: "Patient care is my top priority and we're working hard to make sure patients get the best quality care at our hospitals. Over the last 18 months we've introduced more nursing staff on our wards and I'm looking forward to sharing some of the other improvements we've made with those who attend."
Dr Karen Dunderdale qualified as a nurse in 1991 and in 1996 she became a cardiac nurse specialist, developing cardiac rehabilitation and heart failure services. She achieved her PhD in Quality of Life in Chronic Heart Failure in 2007 from York University. She held the position of assistant director of nursing focusing on Grimsby's Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, before becoming the chief nurse of the Trust in 2011.
