YOUNG Manchester United winger Nicky Ajose is one of the names at the top of Scunthorpe United’s wanted list for next season, the Telegraph can reveal.

The 19-year-old player has proved a huge success on loan to Bury this season under new Iron boss Alan Knill.

He has scored 12 times in 25 appearances for the Shakers, helping them win promotion from League Two.

Now Knill wants to bring the youngster to Glanford Park – either on a permanent basis, or a season-long loan.

“Yes, I have made an inquiry about Nicky, not to the top man, but to those who run the teams below,” the United boss confirmed.

“He is a player who we would be interested in buying, or having here on a season’s loan.”

“Fred dearest Fred who calls their children Fred these days it's very old fashioned? how's the old people's home in downtown Scunny still taking the tablets are we?.No i can't remember that far back to 1982 am in my 40's but not as old as you matey.Knill will not entice any of our players to join his bunch of losers at Scumthorpe.”

“Sorry to say i do remember that season when the not so mighty Iron pipped us for promotion and i'm actually younger than you my friend in my 40's.Hows the old people's residential home in Scunny Fred, nobody names their children Fred these days it's way too old fashioned. The only reason Nicky Ajose came to Bury fc to play on loan this season is that he is a local lad and Manchester United and Bury have a fantastic relationship going back to when Chris Casper a former Man Utd player was our boss.Alan Knill's persuasion had nothing to do with it.I hope he snubs the iron and stays put at United my second favourite club and proves what a great player he is in the Premier league next season.Moving on who's next on your hit list Mister Knill you are trying to take advantage of the fat that we have only just appointed a chairman to Bury fc and that we don't yet have a permanent manager. As for the promotion of 1982/1983 i was only 17 then so it's now become a distant memory like Scunthorpe's Championship aspirations.”

“Sorry Mike, didn't realise I had to spell it out to you. ALAN KNILL HAS LEFT YOUR CLUB - GET ON WITH SUPPORTING YOUR OWN CLUB INSTEAD OF OBSESSING OVER OUR MANAGER!”

“I think Bury are still bitter about 1982/93 when we pipped them for promotion!”

“Perhaps Mister Knill needs to be a little more respectful of his former employers. He seems to have forgotten than little old Bury fc gave him a job when he was assistant manager at Chesterfield having been sacked at Rotherham a few months earlier.Yes i read those comments from the Iron forum and there is no embargo stopping Knilly from predictably going back and swooping for his former players.Latest news is that Ajose is playing for Manchester United reserves tonight and will meet Nigel pearson at Hull City tomorrow to discuss terms. Now there's a progressive club which is bigger than the Iron and The Shakers combined.I'm not stalking anyone you are just jumping on the bandwagon Yorkie ironman from Keighley.Ps how many young former Red devil trainees does Nigel Pearson need at Hull City.? he seems to have tapped in to United an astute manager.Ps2 we don't pay silly money for players we get them on free transfers which most lower league clubs practice.I can't wait to see scunny drop off the coupon next season ha ha ha.”

“at the end of the day mike, lets just see where he goes, small club with no ambitions to better there club (bury) or slightly bigger club with the realistic possibilty to play decent football in a higher league (scunny), cant see you being able to afford him, as knilly said, in his time at bury the most he payed for a player was £5,000 that wont even buy you the sort of rubbish that the codheads buy in the conference. face the facts your jealous that we attracted your manager away from your club, so you come on here every day as you clearly dont have anything better to do and stalk OUR website, good look fighting relegation though next year!!

    UTI!!!!”

“Ironman Keighley quotes "i could play for Bury "yeah right in your dreams mate".Nicky is a local lad from the greater Manchester area born in Bury,so let me ask you again why would you swap clean living in Manchester for scruffy dirty life with the swampboys at Glanford park?.12 goals in 25 games and he didn't even play in all our games was a sub on quite a few ocassions when he wasn't injured.Face facts mate your manager had the chance to put a promotion on his CV and decided to gamble with our promotion push and like before at the millers he ended up with egg on his face. He's a loser and will never gain promotion with any team because he hasn't got the stomach for the fight. Will be listening to Radio Humberside tonight to hear more about Busy Bee Beeby's promises to Yootha Joyce sorry Alan Knill”

“haha mike, you say why would he want to come to scunny, maybe because he has asspirations to better himself, i could play for bury at league 2 level and score that many goals, maybe he wants to join a team that instead of fighting relegation, wants to push on and earn promotion to a decent league.

“How's the grass in Beverley hills Eddie?,no he's not our player but what makes you so sure he has signed a pre-contract with the iron?.As far as i am aware he will be playing for us next season according to sources at Bury fc.The team are looking forward to a nice trip to la belle Spain and then sitting down and discussing new contracts.Knill has an awful record of relegating teams and especially in league 1 he took Rotherham down didn't he and now the Iron ho ho ho.”
