SCUNTHORPE United's newest director Dennis Hobson will attend the Iron Trust's AGM on Thursday to answer questions from members.

Hobson will extend his time on the floor after Lee Turnbull, originally scheduled to talk about his time at the club and take part in the Q&A, had to withdraw.

There are expected to be plenty of questions for the most recent addition to the boardroom at Glanford Park, and the only director to publicly express an interest in becoming chairman when current incumbent Steve Wharton retires in the summer.

The AGM takes place at Glanford Park on Thursday, February 28, starting at 7pm. It is free to members and fans can sign-up on the door.

It marks the first real chance for the membership of the Trust to reflect on what has been achieved since it was launched at the start of the season.

The Trust now has 243 full members, and holds a shareholding in the club worth £2,000.

There will be an auction of Iron memorabilia to raise funds for the Trust, as well as a signed matchball donated by the club where proceeds will be split with the Prostate Cancer UK charity as part of the Walk The 92 effort.

The question and answer session with Hobson is due to start at 8pm. The Sheffield boxing promoter joined the Iron's board in December.

He said he had "the contacts and the know-how to make a difference", and his initial role within the club was to assist first-team manager Brian Laws with recruitment.

He took credit for brokering the signing of striker Akpo Sodje, whose goals have gone a long way to restoring belief among fans that League One safety will be secured this season.

AGM attendees will be keen to learn what lies ahead for the club's transfer strategy, and plans for the club from the summer onwards.

The Trust and Lee Turnbull plan to rearrange an evening with him for members.
